XM-15S Threat Simulator
The XM-15S Threat Simulator is a high-fidelity simulation of a mobile,
short-range, autonomous threat air defense system. The threat
system uses command-guided surface-to-air missiles that are
vertically launched from an onboard silo.
The XM-15S is used for developmental and operational tests of systems that are used to identify or counter the threat. Such systems include electronic support systems, electronic attack systems, anti-radiation missiles, IR and millimeter-wave imaging systems, etc. The XM-15S is also used for training of personnel that operate the above-mentioned threat identification and countering systems.
